The Contemporary or Modern house
The Contemporary or Modern house can be defined as a personal statement expressed through nearly any combination of layout, geometry and materials. Current definitions of 'contemporary' may include regional styles that are less academic with a loose interpretation of the traditional details. These are also termed 'transitional', as they tend to move away from the strict style of the region, such as 'Contemporary Mediterranean' or 'Southwest Contemporary', etc. We have several examples of each.
