The Bridle Road Residence by Antonio Zaninovic

The Bridle Road Residence in Cape Town, South Africa is a winner of a 2010 Honor Award from the American Society and Landscape Architects. The project’s architect is Antonio Zaninovic while the interiors are designed by Rees Roberts and Partners. The house is nested at the base of the Table Mountain and surrounded by protected natural parklands on three sides. It features amazing views of the Atlantic Ocean, the city and the harbor at the same time.

Among the most coolest features of the house are the rear deck, the garden, a waterfall built into the side of the home, and a natural swimming pool. The swimming pool is ecologically balanced and self-cleaning using plants, sand, and gravel.

The water in the pool circulates upward into a reflection pool in a private courtyard above. Then it washes over the side of the house in the waterfall that flows over the window of an indoor bathing room and sauna. This side of the house is really a magnificent place to spend time.
